Enrichment and Intervention

The students are encouraged to participate in academic contests, such as the Merced county-wide speech contest, various essay contests, and the Academic Decathlon competition sponsored by the Diocese of Fresno.

The school community believes in the importance of the arts and strives to provide the students with as many fine arts experiences as possible.

Teachers are encouraged to integrate art in all subjects. Students learn liturgical and patriotic songs which are sung at Masses and assemblies.  Students participate in performing arts productions at least twice a year.

For students who need extra help there is an intervention teacher on staff who works closely with the classroom teacher, and who meets with individual students who need extra help.  The intervention teacher systematically monitors and measures each student's progress.  

The staff works closely with the special education department of the local school district and provides appropriate modifications according to a student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
